"Single No More" is a Mainland Chinese movie released on November 11th, 2011, which is a Super Single Day in China. The number "1" in Chinese symbolizes 光棍 ("Guang Gun"), which means single. The movie is a love comedy produced by iTV.cn, Hua Xing Tian Cheng, and China Film Association. The film’s crew includes a famous young director Zhao Fei, beautiful anchorwoman Li Ai, "Zhai Nan Nv Shen" actor Zhou Wei Tong, Golden Horse award nominee Duan Jun Hao, singer Zhou Xiao Ou, handsome anchorman Zhao Wei Zhi, mixed race Mike Sui, and Hong Kong’s famous comedy actor Luo JiaYin. "Single No More" received a wide range of great reviews after its release.
The film is a comedy describing a group of single men and women in a cosmopolitan society. The young Xiao Lang strives to start a new business while chasing after a beautiful anchorwoman. Their romantic love story comically portrays the conflict between societal pressure and true love. Xiao Lang's team includes three young single men and one young lady who started a "Single Groupon Website" to match up the single "leftover men and women" of the Chinese white collar society that is filled with the pressures of expectations and the feelings deep inside one's heart. The movie also illustrates the forms and metamorphosis of 21st century marriages and relationships. The characters' different personalities are very unique, in a way hinting to us that there is no right or wrong in love.
Overall, this is an urban lifestyle film starring two supermodels working with "Single's Groupon." The individuals' experiences comically reflect the part of life when one's torn between true feelings and societal demands. In the end, the story tells us that often times when all your hopes fail, you may find that true love who has always been secretly supporting you by your side.
