iTV Media Inc. and TOT Public Company Limited Formally Deploy MeTV in Thailand
iTV Media Inc. (“iTV Media”), a leading interactive, IP-based network solutions and service provider, and Telephone Organization of Thailand Public Company Limited (“TOT”), a leading provider of a complete range of telecommunications services in Thailand, today jointly announced a formal large-scale deployment of MeTV, an IPTV service in Thailand.
The nation-wide rollout of MeTV follows the successful conclusion of a pilot program launched in Bangkok in 2011. The service enables users to enjoy rich content, including domestic and global channels, on multiple screens such as televisions, personal computers, PAD and smartphones. Subscribers will also experience advanced interactive TV services such as video on demand and cloud-based time shifting. Such a service has been available under the brand name of iTV.cn since 2011 in North America to provide Mandarin-language programming to the Chinese communities. TOT and iTV Media now embark on the first full-scale commercial launch of the service over TOT’s nationwide network, which reaches over 5 million Thai households and is increasing its customer base by over 10% per year.
To promote sales of this service, TOT will embark on an aggressive marketing campaign that includes collaborating with business and channel partners to bundle MeTV services with other products and services.
